Absolutely. Odisei is built for complete beginners: it shows you which keys to press in real time, like a game, so you play real songs from your very first session. No theory or sheet-reading needed to start.

Does it work without a Travel Sax or Travel Clarinet?

Yes. Any acoustic sax or clarinet works through your device microphone. The Travel instruments add silent practice and direct MIDI feedback.
